Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools
This is a knowledge based qualification suitable for anyone wanting to work in a supporting role in a school, for example as a teaching assistant, midday supervisor, site agent or in administration. It is suitable for anyone already volunteering or just starting work in schools as well as anyone not yet working in school.

What are the course entry requirements?
Before you join this course, you will have to complete an assessment to identify your English and maths levels and attend an online initial assessment meeting with a teacher. You must be working towards Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Functional Skills Level 1 in maths.
How is the qualification delivered and assessed?
This course will be delivered online via Zoom, so you will need access to the internet and a laptop or tablet to take part in them. During these courses you will build an e-portfolio of work where you will demonstrate your knowledge and understanding through activities and assignments.
It is an 8 week course delivered over 16 weeks. Sessions will be held once a fortnight to allow you time to complete homework activities and assignments and self-study tasks ready for the next taught session. You will be given a completion date for your portfolio and you must be completed by this date or you risk not achieving.
