The Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate is a competence-based qualification that reflects the 15 topic areas of the revised Care Certificate and includes an awareness of learning disability and autism consistent with learning outcomes from the Core Capabilities Frameworks for supporting people with special educational needs and disabilities. It is expected that all learners who work for regulated service providers will have attended training that meets the standards in the Oliver McGowan Code of Practice prior to or alongside completing the new qualification.

What are the course entry requirements?
Before you join this course, you will have to attend an initial assessment session to identify your English and maths levels. You must be working towards Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Functional Skills Level 1 in maths. If you meet the English and maths requirements you will be invited to an interview with a teacher to confirm your suitability for the course. The interview may be in person or online.
How is the qualification delivered and assessed?
This course is delivered face to face in Arndale House. During this course you will build an e-portfolio of work where you will demonstrate your knowledge and understanding through activities and assignments. You will be given a completion date for your portfolio and you must be completed by this date or you risk not achieving.
Further Progression
Successful completion of a Level 2 qualification could lead to progression to a Level 3 qualification or you may be recommended to upskill your English, maths or ICT before doing this. You may also be able to progress within employment in a variety of roles.
