Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
The City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care is an occupational qualification for learners who work in Adult Care Settings in England. It is applicable to a variety of roles, where workers have key responsibilities for delivery of care and support and/or a level of supervisory responsibility for others such as:
• Lead Adult Care Worker
• Lead Personal Assistant
• Key Worker
• Domiciliary Care Worker
• Senior Care Assistant
• Support Worker
What will I learn?
This qualification consists of mandatory units covering core knowledge and skills competencies with optional unit content which can be combined in flexible ways to reflect the real working context of different learners. The content of the mandatory units covers person-centred approaches, communication, personal development, equality and inclusion, handling information, duty of care, responsibilities of the role, safeguarding, and health, safety and wellbeing. The optional units are designed to meet the requirements of a range of Adult Care services and to support the delivery of the Lead Adult Care Worker.
What are the course entry requirements?
You must be employed in an adult care setting and you must have a Level 2 qualification. You must be working at Functional Skills Level 1 (equivalent to GCSE) in English and Functional Skills Entry 3 in maths.
How is the qualification delivered and assessed?
During this course you will build an e-portfolio of work where you will demonstrate your knowledge and understanding through activities and assignments. This is a 9 week course with sessions held every week. You will be offered 1-1 support and drop in sessions to support you to be a successful learner. You will be given a completion date for your portfolio and you must be completed by this date or you risk not achieving.
